Their regulatory reach is extensive, encompassing the hospitality industry, pari-mutuel wagering, licensed professions and occupations, alcohol and tobacco sales, and real estate, mobile homes and condominiums. They are charged with protecting the health, safety and welfare of Florida's citizens and visitors. The department serves almost one million licensees in various business activities and regulated professions. To start a business in Florida one needs to obtain a business license from Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation agency.
City Licensing Requirements: Cities may require local business licenses. However, Florida State Department of Revenue does not issue City Business Licenses. You should contact your local city revenue office to learn about any required business licenses.
